This is a classic Mocha Java in the true sense - an exquisite balance of African acidity contrasting with the heavier body, and earthy tones of coffees from the Indonesian island of Java.

Whether the original Mocha Java blend was sheer happenstance or the product of an epicurean seafarer, the essential elements of this blend—part bright, winey African beans and part sweet, syrupy-bodied Indonesian—have remained unchanged for centuries. And for good reason! This simple two-part harmony resonates as a symphony-full of flavor, texture and balance.
Rating: 91 Points (out of 100)Delicate but rich. Distinct milk chocolate notes and hints of butter and apricot-like fruit in aroma and cup; a suggestion of earth in the cup. The chocolate carries into a clean, sweet-toned finish. – Ken Davids, CoffeeReview.com, January 2010
A great tasting cup of coffee can give you a whole new perspective. It's a moment to pause, reflect, and reprioritize. That moment is what inspires us to make coffee that benefits everyone it touches. From carefully sourcing and roasting the highest quality beans, to supporting small farms and protecting the environment, we focus on what's important.
That's why we at Green Mountain Coffee® believe a good cup of coffee can change your day... but a great cup of coffee can help change the world.
For many, the island of Java in the South Pacific is no more than a sweet dream: beaches warmed by the Pacific sun, prolific mango trees, and exotic animals dwelling in mysterious jungles and mountains. We bring this exquisite world to your senses with Mocha Java coffee.
But we can’t take total credit for it. The discovery of this yummy blend was actually an accident. Long ago in Al-Makha, a historic Yemeni seaport, Javanese coffee was combined, by mistake, with coffee from a more local, Northeast African origin. Today we offer you the best of two enchanting worlds with the rich and engaging Mocha Java blend.

My favorite coffee
Comments about Green Mountain Coffee 12oz Mocha Java:
I found green mountain coffee while living in Northern NY. When I moved in 2008, I have been on automatic order for Mocha Java ever since. I have tried other varieties from GM, but this is the best one...IMO.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

very light on the roast
from lancaster pa
This coffee does taste good.....if you load up on the grounds. They are not kidding when they said it is a light roast. I ended up using almost twice the amount of coffee I would normally use....so at the price per bag that gets expensive. I would only buy it again if it was available in a darker roast.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This coffee is consistently good. I grind the beans and use a small percolator. One may need to use a bit more than the recommended ratio of coffee to water recommended by GM. On the whole it's a great blend!

About Me Average Joe
After a two week visit to Vermont in October, 2010, my husband and I are confirmed GMC lovers. Unfortunately we discovered that our local stores offered only a limited variety and I looked to the online store to find the flavors we loved. The Mocha Java is wonderful, smooth, flavorful and rich. Just the right coffee for a lazy winter morning. It will be a regular on our Cafe Express order.

About Me Coffee Connoisseur
From the time I opened the bag, this signature blend of East African and Indonesian coffees provided an exceptional experience. First, the beans possess a wonderful aroma that, when brewed, fills the room. Second, the cup delivers terrific taste. The East African beans offer acidity that creates a round mouth feel and flavors of grapefruit and tomato. This brew reminds me very much of a Kenyan coffee. If you insisted that I point out a flaw, I would say that the African beans are more dominant in this blend than the Indonesian beans. I have to search a little bit for what the Indonesian beans are adding. However, the beans from the island of Java add a subtle smokiness to the blend. I love this coffee! I recommend it highly to everyone, especially those who like African coffees. Drink up!

My favorite Green Mountain Coffee, wonderful w/creamer and sweetners. I'm hooked and while I can go without it for a few days, I'm much happier when I don't have to! I use a french press which I think really makes a taste difference.
