Product Details Return to Top Tasting Notes Our Fair Trade Huatusco Decaf offers brisk, lime-citrus acidity, and sweet notes of sugar cane and agave nectar. Its finish is engaging, vanilla-toned and sparkling clean. Rating: 88 Points (out of 100) "Gently sweet aroma with hints of wood and molasses. Delicate but well-balanced in the cup, with medium body, soft mouthfeel, and flavor notes of aromatic wood, fruit-toned chocolate, and a citrusy quality reminiscent of sweet lemony tea. Some sweetness persists in the finish, though it fades rather quickly." — Ken Davids, CoffeeReview.com, August 2009 Notes From Origin The Unión Regional de Pequeños Productores de Café Huatusco was formed in 1992 by a group of small-scale family farmers who decided to take responsibility for lifting their community out of the extreme poverty they faced. Their success has been remarkable, and today the co-op boasts more than 1,908 small farmers among its members, including 600 women. The increased revenue that Fair Trade and Organic coffee provides the farmers in this co-op has enabled them to establish education facilities in rural areas, and build regional healthcare centers for several villages. Ecologically-minded, they've also used Fair Trade revenues to fund a reforestation program, while training their members in shade-tree cultivation and terracing, and to improve and expand their organic program, which now includes nearly 500 of its member farmers. The co-op, known to us simply as "Huatusco", also hosts 13 Green Mountain Coffee and Keurig, Inc. employees every year in January for a few days of coffee tasting, cherry picking and friendship. Each year, Green Mountain Coffee and Keurig send 3 groups on Origin Trips. One goes to Mexico, one goes to Nicaragua and the other goes to Guatemala. To date, about 20% of our employees have been on these invaluable trips.

Normally, I don't brew decaf, however, by mistake I ordered this wonderful blend and found out after getting half way through the bag that it is decaffeinated. No one else picked up on this either. We recently hired a person that prefers decaf and this is her go-to blend. She agrees that it is the best decaf she has ever had. Now I keep this at my house as well.Highly recommended.Comment on this review10/2/2009 5.0You won't believe it's decaf By anna the new gradfrom Spring Valley, NYAbout Me Coffee ConnoisseurProsAttractive Mouthfeel/BodyBalanced AcidityNot BitterPleasing AromaPleasing RoastSmooth TasteConsBest UsesAutomatic Drip/FilterComments about Green Mountain Coffee 10oz FT Mexican Decaf:This is a fabulous coffee in its own right - not just for being decaf. It's smooth, medium bodied and a little reminiscent of chocolate. Drinking it, I understood why the Aztecs thought coffee was the nectar of the Gods. It's completely delicious - I make it in a regular coffee maker - nothing fancy. And it's Fair Trade too, which is nice.Gift:NoComment on this review1/20/2008 5.0Outstanding Decaf By Markbojavafrom Raleigh, NCProsHigh QualityConsBest UsesComments about Green Mountain Coffee 10oz FT Mexican Decaf:I don't usually drink a decaf coffee. As a matter of fact I always thought that decaf meant less flavor. I'm not sure if that is usually the case or if I had a bad coffee before but this coffee suprised me considerably. I have been trying many different coffee's lately because I recieved a k-cup coffee maker for x-mas. I use the my k-cup when I have a coffee that is not in k-cups that I wish to drink. I found this decaf in our local grocery store. They just started carrying it and was also on sale. I have been wanting to try a decaf for night drinking. This was perfect. I brew it in the smaller cup sizes for strength. I is a nice medium cup when brewed this way as I like a dark cup of coffee. I would recommend this to anyone who does not want the caffine in their diet. I was very suprised at the quality and taste.. Good going GMCR.Comment on this review1/13/2008 5.0Excellant Full Bodied By mello coffee loverfrom NYCProsHigh QualityConsBest UsesFrench PressComments about Green Mountain Coffee 10oz FT Mexican Decaf:This coffee is wonderful in a French Press!
