Rating: 86 Points (out of 100)Extreme dark roast yields intense charred wood notes in aroma and flavor. Subtler hints of baker's chocolate, fresh chopped wood and smokiness also emerge. Roastiness continues in the finish with hints of cocoa. – Kenneth Davids, CoffeeReview.com, January 2009
Some professionals need to approach their jobs slowly and with a great deal of care. Like tightrope walkers. Or brain surgeons. Or tattoo artists. At Tully's®, the same holds true for creating great coffee. It takes a lot of time and patience, which is why we slow roast our coffee beans to gently coax out the complex flavors and aromas. With roots in the Pacific Northwest, where coffee is a way of life, we take our time in roasting and in training each master roaster in our artisanal approach. From the aroma to the full-bodied flavor, you can taste the time taken in every satisfying cup of Tully’s. Now we invite you to take your time discovering it.

About Me Average Joe
Comments about Tully's Coffee K-Cup Tullys French Roast:
I have tried almost all of the bold coffees that Green Mountain offers. I tried this after reading the reviews and was very disappointed. It is bitter and leaves bad aftertaste. My favorite is still the Coffee People Black Tiger. It is full bodied, rich taste and no bitterness at all.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Tastes Burnt and Acidic
from Dallas, TX
I bought this French Roast, which is my favorite roast, based on the positive reviews. However, it does not taste like a French Roast to me. It tastes burnt, and more like mild-medium roast. French Roast should have a bold flavor, but also smooth with little to no after-taste, and virtually no acidity. There was almost a metallic after-taste to this, with a definite burnt and acidic taste when hitting the palate. It started to make me kind of sick before I could finish the cup, like mild-medium roasts usually do. It smells wonderful, but that's about it for me, which is a bummer.
Tully's French Roast a good new friend!
After looking for a BOLD, Dark, Aromatic coffee, I have settled on Tully's French Roast. It was the best for Taste, Strength & Aroma. (I had tried Jet Fuel, Black Tiger, Dark Magic, Tully's Italian Roast, Double Black Diamond, Green Mountain French Roast, & GM Sumatran but none were as Bold or aromatic.)
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
As good as higher priced French Roast

About Me Coffee Connoisseur
I had previously been using the Barista blend French Roast and ran out of my coffee club delivered order. On a whim I looked for it at my local grocery store and found the Tully's and thought...oh well...until the next order of Barista blend, this will have to do. What a great surprise to find that this tasted almost exactly like the Barista. I immediately changed my coffee club order to Tullys French Roast. This coffee isn't for wimps who love a lighter taste. It's strong, full bodied, and extremely tasty.

I love full-bodied coffee. This one misses the mark. It is strong but tastes harsh with no flavor complexity. Worst I have tasted of dark roasts offered in K-cups.

I have tried a variety of bold, dark roast coffees and this is the absolute best to date. It is the only coffee that is strong and rich enough to satisfy my taste, without causing an acid reaction in my stomach or getting light headed from the caffeine. It really is a remarkable coffee and will likely become my main staple in the morning.

Finally a good k-cup!!
This was the k-cup that made me not regret my Keurig purchase. I was disappointed by the watery results I was getting from the other k-cups in the sample box that came with the machine. I was actually on the verge of returning the machine (although it did brew an excellent Celestial Seasonings herbal tea). Finally I tried this one and it delivered what I was really missing from all the others... a bold, flavourful cup of coffee, even when brewed at the 7.5 ounce size. It had good body and was not watery at all. This might become my morning coffee of choice.
Tastes plain burnt

This is not what French roast is supposed to be. Never should coffeebeans be/taste burnt
Love It my Daily dose of Bold
I like my brews bold with extra flavor. Got to try Tully's French Roast with my first Keurig sampler pack. It has become the one blend I love to start my day. I buy the 80 pack and use other blends when I want to mix it up.
Like brewing a cigarette butt
This is a very strong and bad tasting coffee. Tully's as a whole is not to my liking but this is BAD.
