Product Details Return to Top Tasting Notes Remember those lazy Saturday mornings when everybody slept in? About the only thing that would open our eyes (other than the smell of just brewed coffee, of course) was the mouth-watering aroma of buttery French toast and warm Vermont maple syrup. It seems even our weekend mornings are busier than ever, so we put the aromas and flavors of our favorite weekend treat in our coffee. It's all here: the maple aroma, and buttery, golden toasty flavors, warmed with just a touch of cinnamon. "This coffee makes me sooooo hungry! I get hungry just thinking about it. Reminds me of thick French toast smothered in butter and cinnamon-infused Vermont maple syrup. Yummy and fun!" — Patty Vincent, Coffee Buyer: Fair Trade, Organics and Flavors Nutritional InformationOur flavored coffees are free of calories and carbs, and have no additional nutritional impact. We add no sugars or sweeteners of any kind. So while our flavors may taste indulgent, they're absolutely guilt-free. Earlier this year, I was surprised to read negative comments who wrote that it wasn't the same- that it had changed, was watered down and didn't have the flavor it once did. My friend, a die-hard coffee connoisseur, was introduced to GFT a couple years ago and fell in love with it. She recently visited me with her GFT home-brewed coffee in hand and as she took a sip from her travel mug, her words were, "I don't know what has happened but it doesn't taste like GFT anymore. It is watered down and tastes like regular coffee with a mild hint of a flavor that is undetectable." She went on to express disappointment and recalled how in the past when I showed up to church, I always had the strong aroma of the GFT flavored coffee with me. She laughed recalling how sitting next to me she could smell the flavor and longed for a cup of GFT coffee. This day, however, she was very disappointed. I told her about the reviews I had read and she agreed that was what happened. "It's not the same." And, now I regret to say that I can also be added to the list of disappointed's. :( I now understand why people have complained and I sincerely hope that GM takes note of these reviews because something HAS changed and it is not positive. Next year, I will need to evaluate whether it will be worth the cost to try it again. One K-cup might be the old, wonderful flavor while another might be the watered down version. If this were available year-round where time was not an issue, (as so many have expressed a desire to see), I might be inclined to try a box. As it is, because I order large quantities so I can have it on hand for awhile, I don't know if it will be worth it. It's something I need to consider next year. (p.s. As to whether to recommend this coffee? Based on the new experience, I would have to say "no."Comment on this review3/27/2013 4.0Great flavor and aroma By Lanafrom ChicagoProsBalanced AcidityPleasing AromaSmooth TasteConsThin Or Watery Mouthfeel/BodyBest UsesComments about Green Mountain Coffee K-Cup Golden French Toast:This is a very nice change of pace. The flavor is so good and mixes well with any creamer I've used. It IS a light roast though so I only drink it on the days I don't need a major boost. I came on this site to leave a negative review on one of the other flavors (Gingerbread) so I wanted to leave a review for this one too, because it was surprisingly good. The french toast flavor itself is mild, but what makes this good was that the roast itself isn't too weak and supports the flavor well. A lot of flavored coffees to me taste bad because of the bland, weak coffee behind them, but this one was a great combo. It doesn't taste 'chemical' at all either.I take my coffee with milk or cream, but I'd imagine it would be equally good with sugar as well (or black). I normally drink non-flavored coffee and buy flavored varieties when one piques my interest.I would buy this flavor consistently. It's a good contrast to more bold coffees if you're like me and get bored with having the same type of coffee all the time. This and the coconut variety this company sells in summer are probably my favorite two flavored coffees I've tried that are available in K-cups.Comment on this review3/15/2013(1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) 2.0not as good as before By Katiefrom OhioProsNot BitterSmooth TasteConsNot Enough FlavorBest UsesComments about Green Mountain Coffee K-Cup Golden French Toast:I first tried French Toast K cups in a variety pack in a local store. It tasted like I was drinking french toast. I then ordered it when it was available in bagged coffee to use in the My K Cup. I thought it might have been a bad batch so I ordered K cups. I was wrong. There is hardly any french toast flavor at all. I was dissappointed.Comment on this review3/10/2013(1 of 1 customers found this review helpful) 3.0It's not bad, but not amazing. By Mirabellefrom Boston, MAAbout Me Average JoeProsNot BitterPleasing AromaConsBest UsesComments about Green Mountain Coffee K-Cup Golden French Toast:I really like flavored coffee, hazelnut, french vanilla, or caramel. I thought this golden french toast is just an OK in my book. I'm not a big fan of cinnamon or pumpkin flavored coffee, and this one has that kind of cinnamonny taste. Anyway, I'll skip this one next time.Comment on this review3/10/2013 5.0LOVE, LOVE THIS COFFEE By jmuslinfrom hurricane, wvAbout Me Average JoeProsAttractive Mouthfeel/BodyExceptional/Interesting FlavorNot BitterPleasing AromaSmooth TasteConsBest UsesSingle-Cup/PodsComments about Green Mountain Coffee K-Cup Golden French Toast:I LOVE this coffee, it is (personally) by far the best flavor on the market!!!! Want me to pick up a box for you?" I responded immediately -- "YES PLEASE! Thanks so much!" Came into work this morning, box was on my desk, put a K Cup in the machine...and instantly wondered, "Why doesn't it smell like French Toast like it used to?" Hoped it wasn't a big deal, tasted it...and the flavor is completely gone. Made another K Cup, just in case, and same thing. This once-perfect K Cup is no longer special, or even GOOD. Tastes like a weak caramel instead of the amazing maple/butter/French Toast flavor that used to characterize this coffee. What happened?!?! Seriously, this is my biggest disappointment of 2013 so far! Hoping the original flavor can return. Please, bring it back!!! It was perfection before this year!Comment on this reviewDisplaying reviews 1-10Back to topPrevious | Next »
