Increasingly, Peru is also a country of majestic coffee. Coffee coming from Northern Peru tends to have a sharper quality to its flavor, whereas coffee grown in the central and southern highlands is milder, likely because of lower altitude. We purchase this coffee from the Chanchamayo region of Peru. In general, coffee farmers in Peru contribute significantly to the organic coffee sector. As a result, they receive better prices for their coffee and are able to use more environmentally sound farming practices. These organic farming techniques result in the protection of the immense biodiversity of the region. This coffee is a treat for the taste buds and for the land.
